The Problem

In today’s kitchens, we’ve gotten used to choosing between what’s practical… and what’s safe. Plastic tools are everywhere — cheap, colourful, convenient. But over time, they melt, warp, scratch pans, and worst of all, they release micro-particles into the very meals we serve to the people we love.

Most families want to cook healthier meals, using better ingredients. But few realise how much their cooking tools also matter.

And in the middle of this — one simple question started it all:

“If we care about what’s in our food… shouldn’t we care about what touches it too?”

The Founder

Woodenest House was founded by Emma Holloway, a mum of two and passionate home cook. Emma always loved creating warm, comforting meals for her family — from hearty Sunday roasts to quick weekday dinners. Over time, she began paying more attention to what she brought into her kitchen: organic vegetables, better oils, toxin-free pans.

But one day, she realised something was missing.

"I’m careful about everything else — so why am I still cooking with plastic?"

From that moment, she began searching for something better. Something safer.

The Turning Point

It happened one evening while making dinner. A plastic spatula warped in the pan, leaving behind a strange smell — and that was the final straw.

Emma dove into researching materials, safety, and what makes a great kitchen tool. That’s when she discovered teak wood: naturally antibacterial, durable, and long-lasting.

But the market was filled with either cheap mass-produced sets or rustic tools that didn’t last.

"What I wanted didn’t exist — so I decided to create it myself."

The Solution

Woodenest House was born from that intention: to offer natural, beautiful, and safe kitchen tools for real homes.

Each set includes 10 essential utensils, carefully crafted from solid teak. No glue, no coatings, no shortcuts. Just warm, smooth wood — strong enough for daily cooking, safe enough for growing families.

Emma designed them for people like her: busy, thoughtful, and deeply connected to the little things that make a home feel good.
